No one was ready. No one was looking.  Except Roscoe.  And I started to edit the image and make a post as a joke, along the lines of…  “When no one is ready for family portraits except the family dog.”

But as I started the edit, putting all of the focus on him — cropping the heads off his owners to really force the viewer to look at him.. his expression struck me and I started to cry.  It wasn’t a joke any longer because he WAS ready.  This is HIS family.  These are his people. Heaven help me, I’m still crying.

I have a deep love for animals, dogs and all of their insanity included — Roscoe is surrounded by a ton of love in this portrait.
